Fitters who build from the drawing.

Assembly is deadline work. When the structure is ready, the crane is booked and two fitters are missing, a job advert will not help. We send you fitters for structural steel, plant and pipework – individually into your crew or as a team of our own with a site lead. Profile in advance, at your site 5 to 10 working days after your confirmation.

Market situation: assembly is shortage work

Metalworkers, construction mechanics and plant mechanics are classic vocationally trained occupations – the qualification German companies lack most often according to the DIHK skilled-labour report 2025/2026. In the main construction sector 32 percent of companies reported their business being hampered by skilled-labour shortages in autumn 2025 – more than in any other sector. For assembly deadlines this means: anyone who starts searching once the crane is booked is too late. We keep tested fitters available who are with you 5 to 10 working days after your confirmation.Sources: DIHK-Fachkräftereport 2025/2026 · KfW-ifo-Fachkräftebarometer, Oktober 2025

Typical tasks

In workshops and halls mostly as temporary staffing – your instructions, your shift plan. On construction sites under a works contract with our own site lead.

  • Structural steel assemblyBeams, columns, bracing, platforms, stairs and railings to the assembly plan. Aligning, bolting to torque, tacking and fitting on site.
  • Plant and machine assemblySetting up, aligning and connecting machines, conveyor systems, vessels and steel frames in halls. Dismantling and relocating plant.
  • Pipework assemblyLaying and connecting steel and stainless steel pipework, flanged and screwed connections, supports, reading isometrics. Welding is done by our welders in the same team.
  • MetalworkingCutting, drilling, fitting, pre-assembly in the workshop, repair and maintenance.
  • Work at heightMobile elevating work platforms, scaffolding, fall protection (PPE). Slinging loads and guiding the crane operator are part of everyday work.

Qualifications and certificates

  • Reading drawingsAssembly plans, parts lists, isometrics.
  • Fastening technologyBolted connections (HV bolts, torque), fits, alignment with laser or spirit level.
  • Operator certificatesMobile elevating work platform, crane, forklift – where available, stated in the profile. Company authorisation and instruction on your equipment take place at your site.
  • Fitness for heightExperience with fall-arrest PPE. The occupational-medical examination or suitability check (e.g. G41 for work with fall risk) we organise before arrival where your deployment requires it – in the profile we note that it has taken place (no findings).
  • Welding skillsTacking and MAG where available – stating whether an EN ISO 9606-1 certificate exists. Languages and A1 certificate in the profile.

How we test

  1. 1Technical interview

Which structures, which components, which heights? Who reads the drawing, who guides the crane operator? We ask specifically.

  2. 2Document check

Training certificates, operator certificates, references, ID. What is not documented is not in the profile.

  3. 3Practical test

Reading a drawing and pre-assembling a component to plan – at our site in Lithuania, before the fitter is presented.

  4. 4Team composition

For several fitters we put together a team that knows each other and name the site lead.

Example deployment

An illustrative example, not a real customer situation. Working days counted from your confirmation of the offer.

A plant builder is installing a conveyor system in a customer’s hall. Two of its own fitters are out, the acceptance date is fixed. Needed: three fitters for eight weeks, work platform, reading drawings, one welder for tacking.

  • Day 01

Request – fitters, 3–5 people, in 2 weeks, up to 3 months, under notes “conveyor system, work platform, 1 × MAG tacking”.

  • Working day 12

Offer – temporary staffing into the plant builder’s assembly crew, one hourly rate, start on the requested date. The plant builder confirms – working day 0.

  • Working days 1–33

Four profiles, including two fitters with platform certificate and one fitter with MAG experience. The plant builder selects three.

  • Before the start4

A1 certificates, accommodation near the hall, travel. The plant builder sends the assembly plan and the end customer’s safety rules – we go through them with the team beforehand.

  • Start5

Briefing by the plant builder, company authorisation for the platform, instruction on the equipment. The three work in the customer’s crew.

  • Completion6

System accepted, deployment ends as planned. One invoice per month, timesheets attached.

Frequently asked questions about fitters

Do the fitters work in our crew or as their own team?

Both are possible. In temporary staffing they work under your instructions in your crew. As their own team under a works contract they take on a defined scope under our site lead. On construction sites always under a works contract.

May the fitters operate work platforms and cranes?

If an operator certificate exists, it is in the profile. The written authorisation and the instruction on the specific equipment take place at your site – as for your own staff.

What about tools?

Personal protective equipment and basic hand tools are brought by our fitters. Machines, special tools and consumables are provided by you. Deviations are agreed in the offer.

Can the fitters weld too?

Many tack and weld MAG. For certified welding work we add welders with an EN ISO 9606-1 certificate to the team – on the same invoice.

How quickly are three fitters with us?

Offer within one working day, fitters on site 5 to 10 working days after your confirmation. The quick request on the home page shows the specific dates. For three fitters we name a German- or English-speaking contact at our office by phone; from four a site lead works in the team.
