Warehouse staff and forklift drivers in time for the season.

Parcels do not wait. When the Christmas season comes or a new customer starts, you need people who pick on day one – and who are at the industrial estate at 6 a.m., even without a bus connection. We send experienced warehouse staff, order pickers and forklift drivers, on request as a team that lives together and drives to the shift in its own minibus. Profile in advance, at your site 5 to 10 working days after your confirmation.

Market situation: the season has no notice period

The IAB job vacancy survey counted 1.15 million vacancies nationwide in the first quarter of 2026 – and logistics is one of the areas where demand jumps with the season. Anyone searching in October for the Christmas business competes with every other warehouse in the area for the same people. According to the Randstad-ifo HR survey, 49 percent of companies need foreign skilled workers; 83 percent name language as the biggest hurdle. Every warehouse manager knows the problem: people who do not turn up on Monday. Our answer: a team that travels and lives together, a site lead who translates, and replacement in 3 working days if someone drops out. Note for your purchasing: freight forwarding, transport and logistics is a sector subject to customs notification (§ 2a SchwarzArbG) – in temporary staffing by a foreign provider you as hirer register the deployment with customs (§ 16 (3) MiLoG); we supply all the data and prepare the notification.Sources: IAB-Stellenerhebung, 1. How we test

  1. 1Interview

Which warehouses, which systems, which volumes per shift? We ask about everyday work, not wishful thinking.

  2. 2Document check

Forklift licence (issuer, equipment types, date), references, ID.

  3. 3Practical test

Forklift drivers do a test drive at our site – picking up, stacking, manoeuvring. Pickers work through a list with a scanner.

  4. 4Reliability

References from previous employers. Punctuality and attendance are decisive in the warehouse – we check this before the first deployment.

Example deployment

An illustrative example, not a real customer situation. Working days counted from your confirmation of the offer.

A logistics provider takes on the seasonal business of an online retailer from October to January and needs eight additional pickers and two forklift drivers in two shifts.

  • Day 01

Request – warehouse & logistics, 6–10 people, in 2 weeks, 3–6 months, under notes “pick-by-scanner, 2 × reach truck, 2 shifts, Saturday possible”.

  • Working day 12

Offer – temporary staffing, one hourly rate, Saturday supplement as agreed, start at the season start. The provider confirms – working day 0.

  • Working days 1–33

Twelve profiles, three with forklift licence for reach trucks. The provider selects ten.

  • Before the start4

Contracts, A1 certificates, accommodation near the warehouse with minibus to the shift, travel. The provider, as hirer, registers the deployment with customs – with the data we prepared.

  • Start5

Safety briefing, scanner instruction, company authorisation of the forklift drivers and instruction on the equipment – the site lead translates. Full picking performance from day two.

  • Ongoing6

Timesheet from time recording, one invoice per month. After the season the deployment ends as planned; the provider takes two workers on permanently.

Frequently asked questions about warehouse & logistics

Is the Lithuanian forklift licence valid in Germany?

The forklift licence proves the training. A worker may drive at your site after written authorisation and instruction on the specific equipment – that applies to every forklift driver, including your own. We state in the profile which equipment types the training covers. If you additionally require training to the German standard, tell us in advance.

How quickly are pickers productive?

Our people bring experience with scanners and warehouse systems; it is stated in the profile. After your instruction on the first day they keep up from day two; they reach the cycle target after a short time. Anyone who does not keep the target after induction is replaced within 3 working days – at no extra charge.

Can we take the workers on after the season?

Yes. Transfer into your workforce is regulated in the contract. Many customers use the seasonal deployment to get to know people.

How does time recording work?

According to your system – time clock, time recording or timesheet, signed by the shift leader. The timesheet is attached to our monthly invoice.

What about short-notice additional demand?

Call us. If we have people nearby, it can be faster than 5 working days; otherwise our commitment of 5 to 10 working days after your confirmation applies.

Does the deployment have to be registered with customs?

Yes – warehousing and logistics belong to the sectors subject to notification under § 2a SchwarzArbG. In temporary staffing by a provider based abroad, the notification via the German minimum-wage portal is legally your task as hirer (§ 16 (3) MiLoG). We supply all the data, prepare the notification and remind you in time; you check and submit it. Takes five minutes.
